How africaSTEMI Live! collects, uses and protects the information you share through this website.
Overview
africaSTEMI Live! ("we", "us", "the congress") respects the privacy of everyone who visits this website or submits information to us through it. This policy explains what information our forms collect, why we collect it, how it is stored, and how you can get in touch about it.
This website is a static informational site for the africaSTEMI Live! cardiovascular congress, organized in partnership with Heart and Life Conferences. We collect information only when you actively submit it to us through one of the forms described below — we do not run advertising trackers or sell visitor data.
What We Collect
We only collect information you choose to submit through the forms on this site. No form on this site collects payment or government-ID information.

Our server also automatically logs your IP address for each form submission, solely to prevent spam and abuse (rate-limiting) — it is not used to identify or profile visitors.
How We Use It
- To respond to enquiries sent through the contact form
- To process registration requests and follow up with payment and confirmation instructions
- To review and communicate decisions on travel/registration grant applications
- To review abstract and case submissions through our Scientific Programme Committee, and to notify presenters of the outcome
- To send congress updates to newsletter subscribers, if you opt in
- To detect and prevent spam or abusive submissions
We do not use the information you submit for automated profiling or targeted advertising.
Storage & Retention
Contact, registration, grant and abstract submissions are delivered by email to the africaSTEMI secretariat (info@africastemi.com) for processing and are retained in that mailbox in line with our normal email retention practices. Newsletter signups are stored in a subscriber list on our web server and kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.
We do not currently operate a public-facing database of submitted information — abstracts, registrations and grant applications are handled as individual correspondence, not published, except where you have separately agreed to publication (for example, an accepted abstract published in the Cardiovascular Journal of Africa).
Sharing of Information
We do not sell or rent the information you submit. It is shared only:
- With the africaSTEMI Secretariat and Heart and Life Conferences, who jointly organize the congress and process registrations, grants and enquiries
- With the Scientific Programme Committee, solely for the purpose of reviewing abstract and case submissions
- Where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of africaSTEMI Live!, its partners or the public
Cookies & Third-Party Services
This site does not use advertising or analytics tracking cookies. It does load fonts from Google Fonts and icons from a Font Awesome CDN, which may receive your IP address as part of serving those files, subject to each provider's own privacy policy.
Your Rights
You may ask us at any time to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your information or unsubscribe from the newsletter

Children's Privacy
This website and congress are directed at healthcare professionals and are not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the site and congress evolve. The "last updated" date at the top of the sidebar reflects the most recent revision.
